Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the team reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Fans can look forward to discovering which players will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
